Portobello Rare Books

I have been sourcing and selling books at Portobello Road Market for 8 years.  Prior to setting up alone I previously worked for  Simon Finch of Voewood Rare Books and with Ben Brierly who have both been kind enough to share extensive knowledge and to whom I still refer.

I try to provide an eclectic selection at Portobello road but generally include book from the Golden Age of Childrens literature such as Arthur Rackham, Edmund Dulac etc, Classic Victorian novels, poetry and editions of Shakespeare. In addition I source both modern and older 1st editions, Victorian Children’s Literature Classic novels, poetry and modern 1st editions. I spend a great deal of time sourcing literature and an eclectic mix can be found at Portobello road which has included 1st editions of Dickens, Beatrix Potter, Hemingway, Lewis Caroll.

I also have an interest in Gothic Horror and previous books have included 1st edition Lovecraft, M R James among others.

Previously nominated as a member of the PBFA I have since ended membership as I was too busy at Portobello Road to attend their book fairs.
