The SIBA Business Awards 2021 awarded the very best businesses from across the beer and brewing industry, highlighting businesses who have not just survived but excelled during one of the toughest years brewing, beer and pubs has ever seen.

SIBA judges said: “Real Ale were named winners for their continued commitment to great beer, further improved storage and a remarkable focus on inclusive, approachable customer service.”

Zeph King Real Ale MD said: “We are thrilled to win this award. Thanks to our dedicated staff and loyal customers that help shape who we are as a retailer. We remain passionate about great beer and being independent. Our aim is to offer the best of what is available to our customers, support small independent breweries and offer emerging breweries a high street outlet. This is now even more poignant- given the difficult time so many breweries have had through the pandemic. Working closely with these breweries will be a key focus for us over the next six months and beyond, as we all navigate our way out of the pandemic.”

Real Ale’s first shop opened on Richmond Road, East Twickenham in 2005 to champion locally brewed, high-quality beers. The team have tasted and selected the best beers available across every style and category, and now alongside hundreds of beers, also stock ciders, natural wines and interesting spirits from small producers all over the world. Winners of The Drinks Retailer Awards Retailer of the Year 2015, Real Ale went on to open further shops and Taprooms on Formosa Street, Maida Vale 2017, and Golborne Road, Notting Hill 2019. Free local and national delivery is available from all shops.

Celebrating 16 years in business this spring, Real Ale has numerous celebrations and new beer collaborations planned. To find out more visit SIBA, Real Ale or follow on Instagram, Twitter and Facebook.
